Mike Perry

Mike Perry is a very obvious choice for me to look at for illustrated type, but i love his work and hopefully will give me lots of ideas.

Hand drawn type

For the Otley Run Poster and map that I am making I feel Hand drawn type scanned in will look better than a font. I have been looking at some really well crafted hand drawn type. I am also wanting to do hand drawn type for my 3rd brief of re illustrating Roald Dahl books.

Ive been trying to find some pub crawl maps that didnt look as horrible as the last ones I found, I couldnt really find any but I have come across some detailed illustrated maps...


I really like the image above...its almost in my exact style that I am drawing my images in. it is by Anna Simmons....I think I will look at more of her drawings

Ive been trying to find some pub crawl maps but I hardly came across any and the ones that I did I think are awful. I think I could make one look really decorative and interesting for people taking part in the Otley run.

Pub crawl

So happy I saw this as I think its a brilliant way for people doing the Otley run to figure out what pub is next, especially for freshers who wouldnt know where to go.

Saw this and thought the style was quite smilar to mine. I would have liked to put the floor infront of the pubs in my drawings and some detail in the background but the drawings are being place on a background.

This man Illustrated over 100 pubs in newcastle and spent 4 months doing so. This could be something to keep in mind.

I like the idea of it being a book but I am not sure you are able to pull these out and have them on display.

the last four photos can be pulled out and put on display this is how I want mine to be like, I need to design a front cover too.

Leeds

For my second brief I am looking at leeds and illustrating the buildings and creating merchandise eg posters, books, tea towel etc which will be sold in a shop. I have decided that my 1st task will to be make a book of the Otley run pub crawl pubs....so here are ths pubs I will be looking at.
