Type of books I have been concidering

This idea could really work with my designs....just have a book cover but the pages be loose like cards. This way I could play ribben inside and posters.

I quite like the idea of stitching the pages together, this could give a personal tough to my work.

Bear

This is an image I found on my friends boy, but unfortunately he didnt know where he found it.
I think this is amazing, and I wish my work looked like this with all the patterns making up a bears face.

Hot Cakes Poster

although I am making a book after seeing this print of masks, I could quite easily add poster in to the back of my book.

Mask and the noises they would make

Hot cakes

A small concertina bound book of masks and the noises they would like to make. Sticked binding and lino-printed  cover.

I have been wondering how I will make my front cover, I think this idea of lino-printed front cover is a really good Idea and I might do this for my cover.

Art in stiches- a book of masks

Looking around to see if I could find any other artist who have created a book of masks, there were a lot of books with photographs of masks but I really liked this one by Susan Lenz who has made her own book and cover and stuck photos of masks inside.

manchester book fair

I have already made 2 masks, both of rabits with random objects collaged to make the face. I am now wanting to make a cat mask made up of sweets and drugs. This meant to show how something might looks sweet and tasty from a distance (drawings of sweets) but up close is evil and nasty (drugs, pills and cigarrettes)
some of the sweets I am going to draw on the mask

some of the drugs that I am going to add on to the mask

Masks I like

Not sure if you would be able to see anything through this masks. I really like the materials used, especially the fur like material around the face

I know these arnt face mask but I think they are awesome. Maybe my book should have finger puppets

Tom Banwell

For the Manchester Book fair I want to create a book full of cut out mask. This is a very simple but effective mask and I like the elegance of it.
The mask is made of leather with the spaces cut out.
