Penguin

Ice tea

A rather amazing poster created by baking type. Definitely inspiration! This is very much along the lines of what I would like to do for my project. Except exposed properly, and have the string more hidden
Lovit Güit Frens (by valk)Another example along the lines of what I am aiming to do
(by Cody Haltom)Really nice type created out of styrofoam.
Something I think I could work into my book projectSimple but effective cut out type

James and the giant peach

newcover:

James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
A cover for one of my favorite children’s books of all time, James and the Giant Peach. Roald Dahl is just awesome and I’m thinking I might have to do a 3-4 part Dahl collection, not to be confused with me 3-4 thousand doll collection. (Just kidding. My doll collection is only at 1,500 currently.)
Find out more about the book here.

Really like the background texture / design of this, as well as the sillouette

Real new cover

illustrated type

I love the way the type looks as if it’s almost ‘growing’ out.
Something I’d like to try outAdam Hayes work is stunning. I really like his mixture of illustration and type, and the style his work has

Jack

Papercutting working really well here

Orange dust

Reminded me of a Peach for James and the giant peach.
The shapes and layers work well together.

This reminds me of a peach, thought the use of shapes was an interesting take on the peach

Beanstalk research

I was really strugling to draw a beanstalk with the title "Jack and the beanstalk" so thought research would help as i was just making it up in my head before.

Mike Perry

Mike Perry is a very obvious choice for me to look at for illustrated type, but i love his work and hopefully will give me lots of ideas.

Hand drawn type

For the Otley Run Poster and map that I am making I feel Hand drawn type scanned in will look better than a font. I have been looking at some really well crafted hand drawn type. I am also wanting to do hand drawn type for my 3rd brief of re illustrating Roald Dahl books.
